We review last week's
assignment and correct the students' pronunciation of the four tones.
- Train
students' listening skills, encouraging them to explain to each other (in
Mandarin) or use English as a supplementary aid to help understand what
their classmates are saying.
- Below
are the words and phrases we repeatedly corrected and discussed. The
students are unclear about how to distinguish the usage of these two
words.

Chairperson Xu Jiaqing and
Deputy Representative Yang from the Overseas Community Affairs Center,
accompanied by Principal Tang Boyu and Academic Director Huang Yimin, made a
special visit to observe the TCML classes at the Washington Taiwanese School.
The students were able to engage in fluent conversations with Chairperson Xu
using basic Mandarin.
