WDCTS-TCML (Washington D.C. Taiwanese School -Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning) Conversation Class Note - January 21, 2024

 

We have Joseph, Winnie, Rico, Anna, Sasha, and Ken in the class after Christmas Break.

聖誕假期後,今天我們班上有俞莞茵, 洋安娜,  熊大東 ,蔡下雪 , 吉約瑟 , 范健來上課。

Shèngdàn jiàqī hòu, jīntiān wǒmen bān shàng yǒu 俞莞茵, 洋安娜,  熊大東 ,蔡下雪 , 吉約瑟 , 范健lái shàngkè.

   Congratulations for  Sasha -  his 3-day old new-born boy – Natan Milman Chua Yankelevich。

恭喜蔡下雪，他的三天大的新生男孩, Natan Milman Chua Yankelevich。

Gōngxǐ cài xià xuě, tā de sān tiān dà de xīnshēng nánhái. Natan Milman Chua Yankelevich。

2.        Rico went to Kyushu, Japan for family reunion with his wife。

熊大東和太太一起去了日本九州家庭團聚。

熊大東hé tàitài yīqǐ qùle rìběn jiǔzhōu jiātíng tuánjù.

3.        Winnie cam back from Singapore, Phuket in Thailand, and Teacher Janice from Taiwan。

俞莞茵從新加坡、泰國普吉島回來，而Janice老師是從台灣回來的。

俞莞茵cóng xīnjiāpō, tàiguó pǔ jídǎo huílái, ér Janice lǎoshī shì cóng táiwān huílái de.

​Winnie said Phuket in Thailand was pretty much recovered after earthquake triggered Tsunami on 12/26/2004. 

俞莞茵提到泰國普吉島在2004年12月26日地震引發的海嘯後已經復原得相當好。

俞莞茵 tí dào tàiguó pǔ jídǎo zài 2004 nián 12 yuè 26 rì dìzhèn yǐnfā dì hǎixiào hòu yǐjīng fùyuán dé xiāngdāng hǎo.

Teacher asked ‘where were you when the Tsunami hit on 12/26/2004?

老師問：“當2004年12月26日海嘯來襲時，你們都在哪裡？”

Lǎoshī wèn:“Dāng 2004 nián 12 yuè 26 rì hǎixiào lái xí shí, nǐmen dōu zài nǎlǐ?”

Anna said, “I was in Armenia.”

洋安娜說：“我當時在亞美尼亞。”

洋安娜 shuō:“Wǒ dāngshí zài yàměiníyǎ.”

Rico said, “I was working in the bank.”

熊大東說：“我當時在銀行工作。”

熊大東 shuō:“Wǒ dāngshí zài yínháng gōngzuò.”

Winnie said, “I was at work in Virginia.”

俞莞茵說：“我當時在維吉尼亞州上班。”

俞莞茵  shuō:“Wǒ dāngshí zài wéi jí ní yǎ zhōu shàngbān.”

Joseph said, “I was a student in New York.”

吉約瑟說：“我當時是紐約的一名學生。”

吉約瑟 shuō:“Wǒ dāngshí shì niǔyuē de yī míng xuéshēng.”

 We have learned the four seasons and weather today from “Let’s Learn Mandarin, Volume 2, Lesson 1”. We also learned how to write each word as follows:

Homework-Write acrostics with spring, summer, autumn, winter, or east, west, south, north, or left, right, top, and bottom.
