We have used your TOCFL pre-screening 2.0 proficiency description and learning strategies in Listening and reading last week to focus on the importance of 4 tones in Mandarin learning.

我們用了上週同學的華測快篩 2.0 能力描述和聽讀學習策略,著重於漢字學習中四種聲調的重要性。

Wǒmen yòngle shàng zhōu tóngxué de TOCFL huá cè kuài shāi 2.0 Nénglì miáoshù hé tīng dú xuéxí cèlüè, zhuózhòng yú hànzì xuéxí zhōng sì zhǒng shēngdiào de zhòngyào xìng.

During the practice session, Rico shared about his experience today at the tennis match. He meant to say ‘impartial, fair” however when he pronounced it, I mistakenly took it as ‘beating the dog causes the trouble.”

在練習課程中,熊大東分享了他今天在網球比賽中的經驗。他原本想公平、公正,但在他發音時,我誤解成打狗誤事

Zài liànxí kèchéng zhōng, 熊大東 fēnxiǎngle tā jīntiān zài wǎngqiú bǐsài zhōng de jīngyàn. Tā yuánběn xiǎng shuō gōngpíng, gōngzhèng, dàn zài tā fāyīn shí, wǒ wùjiě chéng dǎ gǒu wùshì”.


We plan to use our study of 9-16 Aboriginal groups in Taiwan last week to demonstrate the unique costumes along with special totem design with WDCTS “indigenous Day” event in the auditorium 2:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

我們利用上週對台灣9-16個原住民的研究,計劃下週11 月 12 日下午2點45分3:15在禮堂舉行的WDCTS-華府台灣學「原住民日」活動中展示獨特的服裝以及特殊的圖騰設計。

Wǒmen lìyòng shàng zhōu duì táiwān 9-16 gè yuán zhùmín de yánjiū, jìhuà xià zhōu 11 yuè 12 rì xiàwǔ 2 diǎn 45 fēn zhì 3:15 Zài lǐtáng jǔxíng de WDCTS-huá fǔ táiwān xuéxiào `yuán zhùmín rì'huódòng zhōng zhǎnshì dútè de fúzhuāng yǐjí tèshū de túténg shèjì.

 


 


 


 


 


 


We welcome the new student, Ken Fan, who has passed the pre-screening 2.0 Novice Level in Listening well.  Since he is new to our class, his homework this week is to use all the mandarin characters he has learned so far to write 5-10 sentences about “self-introduction.”

Please do not forget to pre-screen your “Reading Level” this week when you have time.
