• We started learning Lesson 9 "Are you Free on Friday?" to kickoff  with  the new semester of 2023.  We engaged the following conversations.

• We explained the Taiwanese tradition of "Moon Blocks" - two crescent-shaped wood blocks" thrown on the floor asking the fortunes to be told. This is to be ready for school activity on January 22, 2023 to celebrate Lunar New Year of the Rabbit.

• "Jiaobei (Chinese - 筊杯) or bobui (Taiwanese) - two crescent-shaped wood blocks" thrown on the floor asking the fortunes to be told.

• 我們解釋了台灣傳統的“筊杯”——兩個月牙形的木塊”扔在地板上請求算命。這是為 2023 年 1 月 22 日的學校活動準備的，以慶祝農曆兔年 .

• Wǒmen jiěshìle táiwān chuántǒng de “xiáo bēi”——liǎng gè yuèyá xíng de mù kuài” rēng zài dìbǎn shàng qǐngqiú suànmìng. Zhè shì wèi 2023 nián 1 yuè 22 rì de xuéxiào huódòng zhǔnbèi de, yǐ qìngzhù nónglì tù nián.

   Taiwan's winters are relatively short and not especially cold but one cannot say Taiwan doesn't have winter.

   Autumns in Taiwan are clear and crisp.

   4.我的 計畫是把中文學好。

   My wish is to learn Chinese well.

   I have a Taiwanese yearly planner.

  Wǒ yǒu tái wān de ji jìshì nián lì.

•  The correct way to write 台(臺)：tái  

• 台(臺)：tái  

  1.    High flat buildings. Such as: pavilions; The extension refers to "things like a table, stand, pedestal.” Such as: windowsill, lampstand, and pagoda.

  2.    Also used as a quantifier. For example: a play, a lamp.

  3.    Abbreviation for Taiwan(台灣): Taiwan compatriots. Taiwan dollars.
