  • We discussed the four seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter in the class.  Rice Dumpling Festival will be on June 3, 2022 this year.

  • 我們在課堂上討論了四個季節：春季、夏季、秋季和冬季。 今年的粽子節是2022年6月3日。 

  • Wǒmen zài kètáng shàng tǎolùnle sì gè jìjié: Chūnjì, xiàjì, qiūjì hé dōngjì. Jīnnián de zòngzi jié shì 2022 nián 6 yuè 3 rì.

     

    The radical - 日, Rì Sun
    The grass and trees germinate and the flowers and plants are luxuriant under the sun.

     

    The radical -  [夂] 
    Xia, a Chinese person. Its original meaning is the heroic Chinese.When a person with a tall image is called Xiahou 夏后（夏後）. Therefore, the season when the plants grow most vigorously is called summer.
    Why is Xia used to describe Chinese people? It is because people in the Central Plains (中原) always think they are very tall.

     

    The radical - 禾
    Because during the autumn season, they were afraid that locusts would come and sweep away the hard work of the year, so the people of the Shang Dynasty prepared torches to deal with these uninvited guests.

     

    The radical - 夂
    At the end of the rope, there are two knots to show the end. - The end of the season.

     

  • We reviewed two words from Darrel's speech "Beautiful Taiwan."  Taiwan's beauty is her "people" and "Taiwan's food is delicious."  There is difference between "beautiful" and "delicious". But, that's good! Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) knows how to correct the mistakes. He said, "I do not eat Taiwanese people."
  • 臺灣的美麗是人民。
  • Táiwān dì měilì shì rénmín.
  • 台灣的食物很美味。
  • Táiwān de shíwù hěn měiwèi.
  • 漢字的美麗和美味是有區別
  • Hànzì dì měilì hé měiwèi shì yǒu qūbié de.
  • 但是，還不錯！Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) 知道如何改正錯誤。 他說：“我不吃台灣人。”
  • Dànshì, zhè hái bùcuò! Dá léi ěr zhīdào rúhé gǎizhèng cuòwù. Tā shuō:“Wǒ bù chī táiwān rén.”

    Today, we have reviewed "Let's Learn mandarin" Volume 1, Lesson 5 - how to differentiate "where?" and "there." in tones.  The class was video-recorded for one of the required sessions of teacher's training program for "Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning Teacher's Certificate.  今天，我們複習《來!學華語》第1冊第五課——如何區分“哪裡？ 和“那裡” 音調。 該課程為“ 「台灣華語文學習中心」 教師認證”教師培訓計劃必修課之一的視頻錄製。 Jīntiān, wǒmen fùxí “lái!
