  • Teacher Wu said, "How is every one? Raymond(書宗Steven  (葛艾倫 can't come to the class today.  Let's check the homework from last week."  吳老師: "大家好!  Raymond(書宗Steven  (葛艾倫今天不能上課。 我們來檢查上星期的功課." Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Dàjiā hǎo!  Raymond(書宗Steven  (葛艾倫 jīntiān bùnéng shàngkè. Wǒmen lái jiǎnchá shàng xīngqí de gōngkè."
  • Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) said:  "Teacher, sorry, I did not do my schoolwork.  It was my birthday last week.  I am busy this week and I will be busy next week as well. ." - Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) 說: "老師,對不起,我沒有做功課。 上星期是我的生日。 我這星期很忙,下星期也很忙。"  Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) shuō: " Lǎoshī, duìbùqǐ, wǒ méiyǒu zuò gōngkè. Shàng shíqí shì wǒ de shēngrì. Wǒ zhè  shíqí hěn máng, xià  shíqí yě hěn máng."
  • Teacher Wu said, "That's ok, I know you are very busy.  you  can use this opportunity to learn and practice how to use "Above" and "Below" to indicate "previous" and "the next" and "now.""  吳老師: "沒關係,我知道您很忙。 您可以藉機會學習和練習如何使用“上”和“下”來表示“上一個”和“下一個” 和 "現在。" " Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Méiguānxì, wǒ zhīdào nín hěn máng. Nín kěyǐ jí jīhuì xuéxí hé liànxí rúhé shǐyòng “shàng” hé “xià” lái biǎoshì “shàng yīgè” hé “xià yīgè” hé "xiànzài.""
上 - shàng - Above - to indicate as "the previous" 
 - xià -  ‘Below’ - to indicate as "the next" 

  • Teacher Wu said, "Congratulation!  Ricco, how old you you now?  Sorry, we are in Chinese conversation class.  It's not offended to ask the age according to Chinese culture, but it' not polite in American culture."  吳老師: "恭喜你! Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東),你現在幾歲了? 抱歉,我們在中文會話課中。 根據中國文化問年齡並沒有冒犯,但在美國文化中卻沒有禮貌。 " Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Gōngxǐ nǐ! Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東), nǐ xiànzài jǐ suìle? Bàoqiàn, wǒmen zài zhōngwén huìhuà kè zhōng. Gēnjù zhōngguó wénhuà wèn niánlíng bìng méiyǒu màofàn, dàn zài měiguó wénhuà zhōng què méiyǒu lǐmào."
  • Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) said:  "Teacher, I have  "abacus."" - Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) 說: "老師,我有 “算盤”"  Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) shuō: " Lǎoshī, wǒ yǒu  “suànpán”. - suan4 pan."
  • Teacher Wu said, "It should be  the fourth tone for this "pan" word from this  "Monkey King pictures"  I have taught  you in the past."  吳老師: "這應該是我過去教過的“猴子王照片”中這個字的第四個音調。 " Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Zhè yīnggāi shì wǒ guòqù jiàoguò de “hóuzi wáng zhàopiàn” zhōng zhège pán” zì de dì sì gè yīndiào."

  • Joseph (高 靖和) said:  ""A Journey to the West" is one of the Chinese Classical Novels.  Sun Wukong (Monkey King) has 72 tricks with his magic wand.Joseph (高 靖和) ""西遊記"是中國古典小說之一。 孫悟空(猴子王)的魔杖有72種技巧。Joseph (高 靖和)  shuō: ""Xīyóu Jì" shì zhōngguó gǔdiǎn xiǎoshuō zhī yī. Sūnwùkōng (Hóuzi Wáng) de mózhàng yǒu 72 zhǒng jìqiǎo."



  • Teacher Wu said, "Thank you, Joseph (高 靖和), but, Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) , I only know how to use 4-beads abacus that I was taught in my arithmetic class during my elementary school.  I do not know how to use your 5-beads abacus.    "  吳老師: "謝謝 Joseph (高 靖和),但是,Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) ,我只知道如何使用我在小學算術課上教過的4珠算盤。 我不知道如何使用您的5珠算盤。 " Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Xièxiè Joseph (高 靖和), dànshì, Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東), wǒ zhǐ zhīdào rúhé shǐyòng wǒ zài xiǎoxué suànshù kè shàng jiàoguò de 4 zhūsuàn pán.   • Teacher Wu said, "This is number 52 in 4-beads abacus.  The arithmetic and mathematics are different. "  吳老師: "這是4珠算盤中的52。 算術和數學是不同的。 " Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Zhè shì 4 zhūsuàn pán zhōng de 52. Suànshù hé shùxué shì bùtóng de."

      • Every time we want to send a gift back to Taiwan,
      • We don’t know what to send to represent the United States,
      • What American food is as important as Taiwanese rice: sandwich, pizza or burger?
      • If we use burgers instead of rice,
      • Then we will say "Have you eaten a burger?",
      • This is quite strange.

    • Teacher Wu said, "Steven  (葛艾倫) 's homework should have some answers about your Taiwan and American's staple representative food. "  吳老師: "Steven  (葛艾倫) 的功課應該對您的台灣和美國人的主要代表食品有一些答案" Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Steven  (葛艾倫)  de gōngkè yīnggāi duì nín de táiwān hé měiguó rén de zhǔyào dàibiǎo shípǐn yǒu yīxiē dá'àn."

    • I have one questions.  My wife said: in Taiwan, when you ask, “Hare are you?” is “Have you eaten your rice yet?”
    • 我有一個問題。我的太太說,在台灣,當您問, “你好嗎?” 時, 是 “你吃過飯了嗎?” 。

    • Teacher Wu said, "Eating especially with rice is very important in Taiwan.  
    • I was awakened with a bad-dream this morning: "Someone was pointing a gun to me at very weird kind of incident!"

    •  Joseph (高 靖和) said, "There have been many shooting incidents in the United States for many years."  Joseph (高 靖和): "很多年美國有很多的槍殺事件."  Joseph (高 靖和) shuō: "Hěnduō nián měiguó yǒu hěnduō de qiāngshā shìjiàn."
    •  Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東) said, "There are now many shooting incidents in the United States."  Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東): "現在美國有很多的槍殺事件." Darrell Rico Doss ( 熊大東)shuō: "Xiànzài měiguó yǒu hěnduō de qiāngshā shìjiàn."

    • Teacher Wu said, "Thank  you for using words "now", "many years" and "incident" practicing  "making sentence."  吳老師: "感謝您使用“現在”,“很多年”和“事件”這兩個詞來練習“造句”。"  Wú lǎoshī shuō: "Gǎnxiè nín shǐyòng “xiànzài”,“hěnduō nián” hé “shìjiàn” zhè liǎng gè cí lái liànxí “zàojù”."
